Silver Star is looking for security professionals who possess superior customer service skills as they are a prerequisite for employment. Serving our partners is our top priority. We strive to provide clients with industry safeguards and bespoke solutions to operate their business in the proper manner. Silver Star will be providing on-site security and compliance services as well as transportation of medical cannabis.
Essential Functions
- Perform security patrols of external and internal areas of locations.
- Greet customers upon entrance.
- Heavy visual inspections.
- Monitor surveillance and security alarm systems.
- Provide assistance to business owners in emergency situations.
- Keep detailed logs and records of incidents at assigned locations.
- Work with Field Supervisors on scheduling officers and customer communication
- Other duties assigned by Silver Star Protection Management
Requirements
- Must be dependable and on time for work each scheduled day.
- Must have Valid PERC and FOID card (Required)
- 20 Hour Basic Training Security Course Certification
- Original Firearms Training (230#) from a credible firearms instructor
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Great sense of urgency.
- Problem-solving and detail-orientation skills.
- Military or law enforcement background preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current driver’s license and dependable transportation. (Required)
- Must live approx. 20 miles from post.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- A professional appearance and demeanor.
- Able to stand and or sit for extended periods of time.
Work Authorization
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

This is a Part-time position for an Armed Security Officer to cover shifts, as needed. You would be working various locations to cover shifts for regularly scheduled officers who are on vacation, out sick, etc. on an as needed basis.

Job Duties
- Transport cannabis products from Springfield, IL to various locations around Illinois including Chicago, Eastern St Louis, Champaign, Peoria, Grayville, Metropolis Etc.
- Navigate a variety of routes throughout delivery area
- Drive company vehicles (sprinter vans) efficiently and safely
- Work with customers to ensure the delivery contains the correct products
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- At least 1 year of professional driving experience
- Eligible to work in the United States
- At least 21 years of age
- Safe and clean driving record
- Must clear criminal background check
- License from the Illinois Department Of Agriculture will be required after offer is extended
